LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO: ONTO MY WARDROBE
The first girl in ?the ring of fire? is beautiful and sweet Irene Buffa. Irene is a blogger at Onto My Wardrobe and fashion editor based in Milan. She is 21 years old and her blog is always colourful, aesthetic and cheerful. She has a classy style, but always with some kind of personal twist that I love. I met Irene at an event in Vienna back in November and we shared a cap to the airport after the meetings. She is so cute and sweet and after we talked, I realized that blogging in Denmark and Italy is very different in many ways. But off course, we still have a lot in common to. She has collaborated with different brands as Dior, Borsalino, Guerlain and Marella, and I think that is so cool. And despite that, she is very down to earth and laid back.
Now lets hear Irene her self:
I am Irene, I am 21 and I live in Milan, Italy. Right now I am a full time blogger, blogging both on my blog www.ontomywardrobe.com and writing for my website I just launched which is www.essential-wardrobe.com a place for fashion lovers where to find chic essentials, celebrities look etc. (we are still working on it!). I am also a freelance journalist and now and then a freelance designer.
When and why did you start blogging?
I started blogging after I finished high school. I discovered fashion blogs during that year, and I right away thought I should have gotten one myself. I’ve always loved sharing my ideas with people and I also wanted to improve my style and let fashion become -somehow- a big protagonist in my life.
A blog or site that you would recommend to my readers?
One thing that most people don?t know about you?
Many people think I am obsessed with clothes and shopping as I am a fashion blogger, but I honestly HATE shopping! My boyfriend always wants to go around shops, spend his money, try clothes on,… I get so bored and wait for him, which is usually what boyfriends do for their girlfriends 😀
What?s in heavy rotation on your stereo/iPod lately?
My usual playlists are all filled of music from the 70’s and 60’s. In general I love all kind of music, from Rock music to Classical to Raggae. My favorite rockband? The Doors. Talking about recent hits, lately I am listening to Royals by Lorde.
Whats the biggest thing to you because of your blog?
When I look back at past experiences I surely can’t think of one thing only. I think about the growth, from my first 100 readers on Google Friend Connect, to when big brands in the world of fashion started collaborating with me. Among the greatest things I’ve done thanks to my blog, there surely are those cooperation in which I was asked to design a collection / a garment… I can’t hide it.. One day I’ll love to have my own collection.
Whats the view on bloggers in your country like?
In Italy blogging isn’t as easy as in other countries. When I tell people that blogging is my job they always look surprised and don’t really understand how that’s possible. Companies have started noticing the potential of fashion blogs in terms of advertising only recently, but a lot of brands are still very hesitant about paying bloggers for their work.
What do you think about danish blogs? Is there anything that strikes you, when you look at them?
I actually love Danish and Scandinavians blogs. They are always so minimal, elegant and extremely essential. I take a lot of inspiration both from your fashion blogs and interior design blogs.
Who´s your favorite designer?
Dolce&Gabbana stole my heart in the past years. They are always so coherent and their designs are always inspired by italian culture and tradition. They make me feel proud of being italian. On the other hand I also love Stella McCartney, her work with volumes and materials is a big inspiration for me.
Whats your next buy?
Surely a new bag. Receiving a lot of sample and gifts I rarely get to buy something myself (that’s kind of a philosophy for me), but I love investing in pieces I truly like and that will last in time. I am thinking maybe of an Alexander Wang prisma tote bag.
TRANSLATE FROM ABOVE:
Through my blog and the different events, trips and launches I go to, once in a while I encounter on cute, talented and cool girls. Every single time my ?blog horizon’ is extended slightly. But we could be better to share a little. So I have taken the liberty to make a few interviews with some of the cute girls I have met during the last year. I hope you will enjoy meeting them as much as I have.
